My Home on the Interwebs

Welcome!

So this is an unusual blog post. As you can see, I've changed the background to a very pretty image of Saturn. That image was taken on July 19, 2013, aka 7 long years ago. Anyway, As I am writing this it's 2 days until my first day of remote learning. So, why am I writing this? Well, I want to provide a unqiue introduction to myself and what I did this summer.

Who Am I?

I'm a 12 year old science/computer nerd/YouTuber with ADHD who owns a website he writes by hand, which does mean my site looks from 2003, but it also gives me more control with the look of the site, the menu bar, the header, the background, they may be imperfect but they're put together by me, I control them fully. Anyway, I'm also a decent writer (I think), as well as being a GAMER!.

This is me in space! Also notice my Spaceballs the T-Shirt.

This is my gaming rig! It's a Ryzen 7 1700X, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB NVMe SSD, a 3TB HDD, and a 4GB GTX 980.

This is my gaming setup! There are 2 1080p60 monitors, a mechanical RGB keyboard, a Logitech G602 wireless mouse, and a DVD drive for ripping/watching movies. Oh, and a globe.

This is my gaming laptop! It's has a Ryzen 7 4800H, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB NVMe SSD, a 1TB HDD, a 1080p60 display, an RGB keyboard, and an RTX 2060!!! It's also the thing I'm making this website on.

What I did this summer.

Well at the start of summer I mostly relaxed and enjoyed the fact that school was over. But, after a few weeks I had an idea!

"I should make a Windows 98 machine!"

That clip is from Weird Al's Albuquerque.

And after much troubleshooting (which I've been making videos about in the rough style of a YouTuber I like named Druaga 1 which you can see here, though do we warned I use curse words in them, as does Druaga1 in his videos.), I got it working! A computer from 10 years ago running an OS from before I (and possibly, though not probably the teacher) was born (Windows 98SE was released in 1999 after all. (Further reading here.)) I haven't finised editing the saga yet, but I did finish making the computer, and you'll be in for a suprise when you see what it, and it's OS looks like.

Yes indeed it may be hard to believe, but this archaic-looking hard-to-setup OS from 21 years ago is in many ways the predecessor to ChromeOS, the operating system your likely viewing this page on, (at least if I directly gave it to you.)

Yes, those buttons are very grey and flat, yes that is a DVD drive in there, and yes, The computer's case is made out of cardboard! But running Win98SE is not the only thing this computer does! It's one of the very few computers running Win98SE that connects to the internet, and you can kinda watch YouTube on it!

The next thing I did that summer was code a program to test when our internet went down that I use wayyyy to much! I called it "nettest" and it just pings the googly, but it does work.

A picture of my program, NetTest, running.

After I made NetTest, I made another program in the same vein, WinTXT, "a command-line text editor." This program took a lot of work and it's still not perfect, but it can be used for text editing now.

This is an image on WinTXT runnung and WordPad showing that the files it makes can be opened by any other text editor.

And then finally recently I got a brand new GAMING laptop I already showed you. My parents got it for me as an apology for this summer being kinda boring, and it cost appearently over $1300!

The picture of my GAMING laptop you already saw.

My Family

There are many people, and animals, in my family. So, let's start with the most important:

My Parents

My mom is a fun and loving person who is always there for me and who loves me and our animals. There's also my dad, who's a loving and playful person, as well as a tech nerd, just like his son. :) They both are very loving and are always there for me. :)

The person on the left is my dad, the person on the right is my mom. :D.

Now let's move on to the rest of my family.

My Pets.

I have 4 pets, 2 dogs and 2 cats. My 2 dogs are Korra, an adorable 50 lbs doggo who loves to snuggle and really likes to bark at anyone she doesn't recongnize, but past the barking she's a really nice doggo, and Dipper, a fierce puppy who will rip your nose off while playing with you. He really loves to play, as well as MURDER toys, but he's still adorable. As for my cats, there is Alex, a tuxedo cat that really doesn't like to be held, but otherwise is a cute snugglebug. There's also Aaron, a relaxed all-black snugglebug who's fine with getting picked up, and who seems to really like me. Of the 2 cats, Aaron is the most chill. (fun fact: our cats are named after Hamiltion, so they are Alexander Hamilcat and Aaron Purr.)

My interests.

Any description of me would be incomplete without a description of the things I like to do for fun. So: There are a couple things I really like to do: Watch videos, Listen to music, play games, and program.

So, first, what videos so I like? I really like to watch gaming channels (ie Markiplier), Computer channels (like Computer Clan and Druaga1), and lately I've been obsessed with Medlife Crisis. I also like to watch Non-YouTube videos, mainly Star Trek on Netflix. Lately I've been getting into Star Trek: Deep Space 9.

I also like to listen to music, and in terms of artists I like, there are 4 main ones, ERB, Schmohoyo, Weird Al, and Coldplay. In fact that "so I did" clip from a century ago was actually from Weird Al's "Albuquerque"

In terms of games I like to play lately I've really been into CS:GO and Fall Guys, and over all I've always been into shooter games.

Finally, in terms of programming, well, look at the page your looking at.

Ending.

Thank you for checking out this page. I hope you enjoyed reading it and learning about me, and one more thing:

Do you see that image of saturn in the background? It's hard to see, but on the right, under the rings of Saturn, there's a small blue dot. That's earth. This image from NASA, the same page I got the saturn image from, shows it nicely. I don't know why I included this, but I did.

A picture of the somewhat famous Pale Blue Dot image with the planets visible in the image marked.
