Discussion
These cards have the same manufacturer ID, the same OEM ID, the same product name, and the same product revision as the PNY Premier-X 128GB. So they should perform exactly the same, right?
As it turns out, no — at least, not based on this one sample. Well…almost.
Sequential write, random read, and random write speeds were pretty in line with the PNY Premier-X 128GB, but sequential read speeds were considerably worse. And it’s not like the card did well initially and then worse as it went on — I watched it, and it did about 50MB/sec pretty consistently across the entire test. It’ll be interesting to see what the other two samples do.
Endurance tests for sample #1 are still ongoing. It has not yet reached the 2,000 read/write cycle mark; it is currently expected to get there sometime in December 2024.
Samples #2 and #3 are still in the package waiting to be tested.
